We’ve played with the Samsung Galaxy A5 last Spring and now it’s spring again, so it’s time for the successor. I’m talking about the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016), that’s here for testing and it’s unboxed below. You can find it on Amazon for $359.

This handset is a midranger and comes inside a typical Samsung box, all rectangular, white and gray. Inside the box we find the metal key meant to access the card slots, the manual, USB cable, charger and headphones. This phone is thicker and heavier than the predecessor, but also increases the diagonal size, to 5.2 inches.

Another change is the switch from all metal body to two 2.5D Gorilla Glass 4 panels, with a metal frame sandwiched between the glass panels. Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) packs a 5.2 inch Full HD Super AMOLED screen, an octa core Snapdragon 615 processor, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. There’s a 13 megapixel back camera with OIS and a front 5 MP shooter is also here.

The smartphone integrates a 2900 mAh battery and comes in gold, black or white. We’ll be back very soon with a review and I can already say this model handles pretty well considering the amount of glass it uses. The updated price is here.
