On this day, March 15th, Samsung has launched its latest Galaxy A Series smartphones, led by the Samsung Galaxy A54, which boasts a refined design compared to its predecessor. At first glance, one can notice the camera module is gone, adopting the same visual strategy as the Galaxy S23, with the cameras separated by their own circular protrusions, for a cleaner and simpler look.

The change in design is noticeable when comparing the two phones side by side, and the back panel is still made of glass, coming in shades of grey, green, violet, and white, with a polycarbonate frame. The IP67 certification from its predecessor is retained, and the display remains the same, a Super AMOLED 120Hz 6.5-inch screen with FHD+ resolution.

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy A54 is equipped with an Exynos 1380 octa-core processor, replacing the Exynos 1280 on the A53. It features 5nm process technology, with a 2x 2.4 GHz Cortex-A78 + 4x 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 architecture, and a Mali-G68 MP5 GPU. It is available in 6/8 GB RAM and 128/256 GB storage options, expandable via microSD.

The phone comes with a 32MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture and HDR, while the back camera has been upgraded to a triple-camera setup consisting of a 50MP wide camera (with OIS), a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP macro camera. In terms of connectivity, the phone offers 5G, Wi-Fi 6, USB-C 2.0, and NFC. It also features stereo speakers, an optical under-display fingerprint scanner, and a 5000 mAh battery that supports 25W charging via USB-C.

The Samsung Galaxy A54 comes in shades of green, grey, violet, and white, and is priced at 490 euros for the 6/128 GB model. The 8/256 GB model normally retails for 540 euros but is available for 490 euros at launch. With its upgraded features and sleek design, the Samsung Galaxy A54 is sure to be a top contender in the smartphone market.
