At first sight a new Samsung smartphone has been spotted in GFXbench, but the SM-G870 is a familiar codename. It has leaked before and odds are that it’s exactly the Galaxy S5 Active, the more rugged version of the S5.

This handset, according to GFX comes with a 5.2 inch Full HD display, runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat and packs a quad core Snapdragon 800 2.5 GHz processor. There’s an Adreno 330 GPU inside, 1.8 GB of RAM, 11 GB of ROM and a 15 MP back camera, plus a front 2 MP shooter. My only question is what kinds of extra resilience this model will get, since the S5 is already waterproof and dust proof.

I expect it to be able to sink deeper into the water and stay there longer. Or, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active could just be rugged and take shocks with no problems. I wonder why the screen is bigger, though… What do you expect here?
