No wonder Apple chose Sharp to develop the screen for the iPhone 6… The Asian company is supposed to launch this month in Japan the Sharp Aquos SH-12C super smartphone, carried by local operator NTT DoCoMo. This device not only packs a 1.4GHz CPU, but also a 3D camera, according to Akihabara News.

We’re dealing with an Android 2.3 device with a 4.2 inch screen with a 960 x 540 pixel resolution. The brains of the device is a 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor and the smartphone supports 14.4Mbps HSPA connectivity and adds an 8MP camera in the mix with the ability to take 3D photos and videos. HDMI is also on board, as well as Bluetooth, WiFi and GPS.

This handset weighs 138 grams, measures 11.9mm with a max thickness of up to 13.8mm in some areas. The design is simple, no flashy stuff and we sure miss having this unit available internationally. If you’re in Japan and you get this device, we sure envy you.
