It’s very hard to imagine a small phone with a powerful camera, without thinking of the Xperia Compact models. The latest such entry in the series is the Xperia X Compact, that we unboxed below. This model was unveiled at IFA 2016 and it arrived on our test table with the Xperia XZ and a solid set of headphones. Priced at $500, this handset came to us in a test version, without a charger or headphones.
It does have the manual and the USB Type C cable. We’re dealing with a 4.6 inch phone, that has a 720p resolution and comes with a Snapdragon 650 processor, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. There’s a microSD card slot in the mix, a 2700 mAh battery and everything is crammed within a 9.5 mm thick chassis and a device that weighs 135 grams.
Available in blue, black and white, this small phone has the standout point the 23 megapixel camera with the same cool specs of the Xperia XZ cam. We’re talking about triple image sensing, 5 axis stabilization and color sensing. There’s also a 5 MP front shooter, stereo recording, dual speakers and LTE Category 6 here. A fingerprint scanner is placed on the side and we also have PS4 remote play.
This model comes with Android Marshmallow and it’ll get Nougat in November. You can buy it from here.
