TCL has shown the 34C2A, a 34-inch curved ultrawide gaming monitor pairing QD-Mini LED backlighting with a 3440 × 1440 resolution and up to a 200Hz refresh rate. Its key trade-off is that the maximum refresh rate is available only with Mini LED local dimming disabled; enabling the monitor’s 1,188 dimming zones limits it to 180Hz.
The 21:9 panel has a 1500R curvature and uses a CSOT Fast HVA panel. TCL rates it for up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness, 98% DCI-P3 color coverage and 99% sRGB coverage. Response time is specified at 1ms GtG in the monitor’s Fastest setting, while Tmoc Motion Clarity is included for motion handling.
Its QD-Mini LED system uses TCL’s Precise Dimming technology, combining 1,188 local-dimming zones with micro-lenses and light-control algorithms. This approach can reduce blooming around bright objects against dark backgrounds, but it does not provide the pixel-level light control of an OLED display. Mini LED’s advantage here is higher peak brightness for HDR highlights and bright scenes.
TCL is also positioning the 34C2A around gaming software features rather than integrated smart-TV functions. The monitor includes Game Scene Modes, KVM support for controlling two PCs with one keyboard and mouse, and an adjustable ergonomic stand. Smart Crosshair Color Inversion, which changes crosshair color according to the background, and Smart Shadow Boost for lifting dark areas are listed as future OTA update features.
The 34C2A follows TCL’s earlier 34R83Q ultrawide QD-Mini LED monitor, which also used a 34-inch 1500R panel. The newer model raises the refresh-rate ceiling and adds the company’s newer gaming-processing package. TCL is also expanding the C2A range with the 27C2A, a model that supports 4K at 160Hz or Full HD at 320Hz.
TCL has not detailed pricing or market-by-market availability for the 34C2A. The 180Hz limit with local dimming enabled will be an important specification for buyers weighing its HDR-focused Mini LED design against high-refresh OLED alternatives.
