After Huawei introduced on the market another version of the Ascend P7 smartphone that comes with a sapphire glass layer, today, another Chinese producer, more precisely BBK, does the same thing with their Vivo X5 slim smartphone. With such a feature, the Vivo X5 is available now for a $490 price tag.

Like expected, this upgrade brings just the sapphire glass in the package, so we get the same specs like the 5-inch HD display (1.280 x 720 pixels), an octa-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.7 GHz, 2 GB of RAM memory, a 13-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and 4G LTE technology.

Also, among other features we have the Yamaha YSS205X-CZE2 digital surround voice signal processing chip that offers a great audio quality both through the dedicated speaker and the headset. It remains to see if other manufacturers will also have in mind the launch of a special sapphire edition for their flagships.
