vivo is reportedly still developing the X500 Ultra, with tipster Digital Chat Station pointing to a March or April 2027 launch. If accurate, the schedule would keep vivo’s next Ultra camera flagship on its previously reported spring timetable, even as unconfirmed reports suggest OPPO’s Find X10 Ultra project may be paused and Xiaomi’s 18 Ultra could be canceled.

vivo has previously indicated that its Ultra line will continue. Huang Tao, vivo’s vice president of products, said in September that the next Ultra model would place even greater emphasis on photography and video, aiming for a noticeable step up from the current X500 Pro Max.

The X500 Ultra’s hardware remains unannounced, but the current rumor trail points to the following configuration:

  • A Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset.
  • A 6.85-inch LTPO OLED display with 2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate.
  • A 200-megapixel sensor for the periscope camera.
  • A battery capacity between 7,000mAh and 8,000mAh.

An IMEI database entry for a device identified as V2660, spotted in October, has also fueled expectations of a wider international release. An IMEI listing can indicate that a global variant is being prepared, but it does not confirm launch markets or availability.

vivo later told Android Authority that an Ultra launch had not yet been officially confirmed. For now, the latest leak suggests the project is moving forward, while the final launch date and the phone’s camera hardware remain unresolved.
