Wiko debuted a new affordable handset this week, the Birdy model, shown below. It comes with a case that reminds us of the iPhone 5c and it offers 4G LTE on board for the price of 130 euros. This is the second 4G device of the French brand and the price is pretty good.

Wiko Birdy relies on a quad core Cortex A7 1.3 GHz processor, that is probably a MediaTek, although we have no confirmation about that. Comparisons between this model and the Wiko Kite are obvious, but that unit relies on a Broadcom CPU, so there’s a difference right there. The Birdy is also slightly bigger than the Kite, with an IPS 4.5 inch display on board and a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels.

It also has a microSD card slot, a 2000 mAh battery and a 5 megapixel back camera with LED flash. Upfront there’s a 2 megapixel shooter for videocalls. Birdy relies on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and measures 9.6 mm in thickness. It will come in a variety of color choices, including violet, white, black, yellow, red, fuchsia and turquoise.
