There’s a new Xiaomi phone coming, but not a high end one. It’s an entry level unit, known as the Xiaomi Redmi 5A and it’s expected to come pretty soon. It was previously leaked as the Xiaomi “Ulysse” and it packs some low midrange specs, rather than real entry level ones.

The follow-up to the Redmi 4A, this device is expected to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, 2 or 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. There’s also a 5 inch HD screen in the mix and a 3080 mAh battery. As far as the camera goes, we get a familiar face, thanks to a 13 megapixel Samsung S5K3L8 sensor, which was also available on the Redmi 4 and Redmi Note 4.

Keep in mind that the Redmi 4A had a dual SIM card slot, 4G LTE support and a 5 MP front camera, all of them elements I also expect on the newcomer. A welcome bump up would be the OS moving from Marshmallow to Nougat, but I can’t guarantee that. As usual, an entire range of Redmi 5 products should debut, not just this one model. Expect a price slightly above $100.
