Lenovo debuted a new version of the Vibe K5 Plus handset, one that brings more RAM and a fresh UI, but keeps the price tag of just $127. This model is meant to compete with the Xiaomi Redmi 3s, which will debut this month.

Vibe K5 Plus packs a 5 inch Full HD display and relies on an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor, 3 GB of DDR3 RAM and 16 GB of storage. The RAM quantity was previously 2 GB, so we get 1 GB more on this version. USB OTG is supported and we’ve also got a microSD card slot, which now can support 128 GB cards, instead of 32 GB like the older model.

The typical camera setup is here, with a 13 MP back shooter and a 5 MP front cam. There’s a 4000 mAh battery in the mix on the 16 GB storage version, while the 32 GB one gets a 4100 mAh unit. Vibe K5 Plus somehow didn’t get a fingerprint scanner at the back, even in the new version.
