Reuters informs us that Stephen Elop is to be paid $6 million for his transfer from Microsoft straight to the helm of Nokia. A corporate filing is testimony to this huge payment, that’s meant to replace his lost salaries as part of MS in the official position he had.

The present Nokia CEO was paid $3.18 million last October and will be paid a further $3.0 million this October. At least, this is according to Nokia’s annual 20-F form, that was filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Elop has a gross base salary of 1.05 million euros, a little bit less than the previous Nokia CEO, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo.

His base salary was around 1.18 million in 2009.
