HMD may be preparing an Asha 305 Pro with a removable battery, LTE connectivity and USB-C, according to a leak reported by IT Home. The handset is said to pair those increasingly uncommon hardware features with entry-level components, including a 5-inch 854 x 480 LCD display, 2GB of RAM and a Unisoc T137 processor.
The reported specification list includes 32GB of storage, a 5MP rear camera with an LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera. Power would come from a 2,500mAh removable battery, while connectivity is listed as LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 and hotspot support. A 3.5mm headphone jack and USB-C port with OTG support are also reportedly included.
The leak names Pulse OS as the operating system and claims an IP52 rating for basic dust and water resistance. Images accompanying the report show wide display bezels, flat edges and a rear camera module with a more contemporary look. Black and pink color options have been mentioned.
The Pro branding appears to signal a modest step up within the rumored Asha 305 range. Earlier reports described the standard Asha 305 with 16GB of storage and a 2MP rear camera, which would make the Pro model's claimed storage capacity and main camera its primary upgrades.
HMD's Romanian declaration-of-conformity page lists an HMD Asha 305 under model identifier TA-1779, confirming that an Asha 305 family device exists in HMD's portfolio. It does not confirm an Asha 305 Pro variant, its design or any of the leaked hardware details. HMD has yet to announce pricing, launch markets or availability for the purported Pro model.
