Xiaomi staged the first Czech edition of its Xiaomi POP Run in Prague on August 29, 2026, handing an estimated 1,300 runners a Smart Band 9 Active as part of the event package. The race was held in Stromovka Park and offered both 5 km and 10 km routes.
The included band could be used to log personal activity during the event, but it was not used for official results. Race timing was handled through a chip attached to each runner’s bib number, separating personal wearable data from the timing system used for the standings.
Entry cost 699 Czech koruna, while the Smart Band 9 Active included in the package was valued at 599 Czech koruna. The tracker therefore accounted for a substantial part of the paid registration bundle rather than being a separate giveaway.
The Smart Band 9 Active is Xiaomi’s more basic fitness tracker, with a 1.47-inch TFT display, 50 sports modes, heart-rate, blood-oxygen and sleep monitoring, 5 ATM water resistance, and claimed battery life of up to 18 days. Xiaomi has since moved on to the Smart Band 10, which has a 1.72-inch AMOLED display and more than 150 sports modes. The company had already used the newer model at POP Run events in Asia during 2025.

On the course, Martin Kováčech won the men’s 5 km race in 15:04.9, while Anita Žáková led the women’s field with 18:33.4. Vít Pavlišta took the 10 km in 32:01.3, and Lenka Koubková won the women’s 10 km event in 38:23.7.
Czech event materials put the prize pool at more than 133,000 Czech koruna, with awards for 12 places including Xiaomi TV S Mini LED 55-inch televisions, OpenWear Stereo Pro and Watch 5 combinations, and Watch S5 smartwatches. That figure conflicts with a separate claim of prizes worth more than €25,000; the local Czech sources consistently cite the 133,000 Czech koruna total.
Xiaomi has run the POP Run format since 2018. Its Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam editions drew more than 4,200 participants combined in 2025, and Prague now adds the first Czech stop to the brand’s wearable-focused running-event rollout.
