iQOO’s next flagship could bring a major battery increase alongside a more distinctive rear design. Leaks linked to tipster Digital Chat Station point to an iQOO 16 with an approximately 8,500mAh battery, up from the 7,000mAh cell in the iQOO 15, and a new square camera island with heavily rounded corners.
A sketch shared in the leak shows three rear cameras visually integrated into one assembly rather than the more conventional floating camera layout used on the iQOO 15. The camera island is also said to use decorative frame details and internal textures, while iQOO may adopt a new manufacturing process for the rear panel.
Earlier camera information has suggested a triple-50MP system. The primary camera could use a larger 1/1.3-inch sensor behind an f/1.68 lens, while the periscope camera is tipped to retain a 1/1.95-inch sensor format. If accurate, the main camera would appear to be the focus of the hardware upgrade.
Other rumored specifications include a flat Samsung display of around 6.85 inches with 2K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. The handset has also been associated with Qualcomm’s expected Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 family, positioning it once again as a performance-focused iQOO flagship.
The iQOO 16 is rumored to arrive in September alongside a compact gaming tablet, but neither its launch timing nor its specifications have been confirmed by iQOO. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit is scheduled for September 22 to 24, making the chip announcement the next likely milestone before the phone’s hardware picture becomes clearer.
