Xiaomi is bringing the Mijia brand more formally to Europe, with large home appliances set to join its existing smart-device ecosystem. The company used IFA 2026 to showcase more than 380 products and confirm plans to introduce Mijia washing machines, air conditioners and refrigerators to European markets.
The expansion moves Mijia beyond the smaller connected products commonly associated with the brand, such as lighting, sensors and household gadgets. Xiaomi says the incoming range will include multifunction washing machines, air conditioners with radar sensors, and refrigerators designed with food-preservation technologies. These products are intended to connect with one another in Xiaomi’s wider smart-home platform, where AI is positioned as a tool for anticipating user needs.
Xiaomi’s IFA presence covered more than 3,300 square meters, which the company describes as its largest independent exhibition outside China. Mijia’s European debut was a central part of the presentation, held under the “The Art of Smart Living” slogan.
The move supports Xiaomi’s “Human × Car × Home” strategy, which links smartphones, wearables, TVs, connected appliances, smart-home equipment and eventually vehicles under one ecosystem. Mijia now spans more than 2,000 SKUs across over 130 product categories, according to Xiaomi.
Mijia was introduced by Xiaomi founder Lei Jun in Beijing on March 29, 2016, initially as a brand for smart-home products developed by Xiaomi and companies in its ecosystem. Its first officially launched product was the Mijia Induction Heating Pressure Rice Cooker, a smartphone-connected rice cooker. Xiaomi had already invested in roughly 55 ecosystem companies at that point, including air-purifier maker Zhimi and water-purification specialist Viomi.
Xiaomi has not detailed which individual Mijia models will reach Europe first, nor has it provided a rollout schedule or regional pricing. Those details will determine how directly the company can challenge established European appliance brands with its connected-home platform.
