Apple’s first foldable iPhone could carry a starting price of $2,099 to $2,299 in the US, with top configurations potentially exceeding $3,000, according to TrendForce estimates. The device is provisionally referred to as the iPhone 18 Fold and is also widely known through the unofficial “iPhone Ultra” label.
The projected entry model would include 256GB of storage. TrendForce expects 512GB, 1TB and 2TB versions to follow, although no pricing breakdown for those capacities has been published. If the highest-spec model crosses $3,000, the gap from the lowest estimated $2,099 entry price would be more than $900.
That would place the foldable above Apple’s current flagship pricing even before storage upgrades. The 2TB iPhone 17 Pro Max is priced at $1,999 in the US, meaning the estimated foldable starting point is $100 to $300 higher while offering far less storage than that fully configured Pro Max.
TrendForce also expects prices across the next iPhone generation to rise by roughly 10% to 20% as component costs increase. The firm cites 256GB memory costs that have climbed to nearly five times their level a year earlier. Apple may absorb part of those increases to protect market share, but the foldable model appears set to occupy a distinctly higher price tier.
The pricing would arrive in a foldable-phone market that TrendForce expects to account for only about 2% of global smartphone shipments in 2026. Earlier reports have pointed to a large display and a well-regarded hinge for Apple’s device, while also suggesting it may omit a telephoto camera.
Apple has not confirmed the product name, specifications, pricing or launch plans. TrendForce currently places the first foldable iPhone’s debut in fall 2026 alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, leaving its final configuration and position within Apple’s lineup unresolved.
