Google is expanding Gemini’s voice-based capabilities across Gmail, Google Docs and Google Keep, allowing users to retrieve information from their inboxes, turn spoken ideas into documents and edit notes or lists through conversation.
Gmail Live turns inbox searches into spoken queries. Users can ask Gemini questions such as which gate they need for a flight or what is happening at a child’s school that week, and the assistant will look through relevant messages to provide an answer. The feature is available globally in English on Android and iOS for Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers.
Docs Live is designed to create documents from a voice conversation. Gemini can organize dictated ideas into structured text and draw on information from Gmail, Google Drive, Chat and the web. A new “Open with voice” button also lets users ask Gemini to add and format material directly in a document.
Access to Docs Live requires a Google AI Pro or Ultra subscription, or a Google Workspace Business or Enterprise account. Google is also running a limited preview for free Google account users in the United States.
Keep Live extends the same approach to notes and checklists on Android. Users can dictate a new note or ask Gemini to update an existing one, such as adding ingredients to a shopping list. Keep Live is available to Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers.
