RugOne’s XLink 7 replaces the limited radio range of a conventional walkie-talkie with 4G connectivity, allowing users to communicate across countries or continents when both devices have an active service plan and cellular coverage. The company cites a theoretical reach of up to 20,000 miles, but that figure depends on the mobile network rather than direct VHF/UHF radio or satellite links.
The device was demonstrated at IFA 2026, where a real-time voice test between two XLink 7 units was completed over 4G. Its operating model makes it closer to a compact cellular voice terminal than a traditional two-way radio: distance and terrain are less relevant where 4G service is available, while communication is not available beyond cellular coverage.
Weighing 84 grams, the XLink 7 supports Full-Duplex conversations with up to three users at once, avoiding the usual press-to-talk exchange required by most radios. A Bluetooth ring can also act as a remote push-to-talk control when the device is attached to clothing or other equipment.
RugOne lists AI-assisted noise cancellation rated for up to 55 dB of reduction, alongside an AI Voice Assistant. Positioning support includes GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou, while Bluetooth 5.2 is used for accessories. The unit has a 1,050 mAh typical battery capacity, or 1,020 mAh rated capacity, with claimed endurance of up to 24 hours in normal use or 10 hours of continuous conversation.
RugOne is Ulefone’s outdoor-focused brand, and the XLink 7 joins products including the Xever 7, Xever 7 Pro and modular Xsnap 7 Pro. A standard XLink 7 version supports a compatible nano-SIM, while another retail configuration includes 12 months of service.
