Dreame is expanding beyond its better-known home appliance lineup with the LEAPTIC Cube, a 55.9g modular action camera capable of recording 8K video at 30 fps. Shown operating at IFA 2026 after its earlier CES introduction, the camera combines a compact imaging unit with a separate display module that can serve as a live monitor.
The IFA demonstration mounted the camera on a small train running around a track, with its first-person feed shown on a display. Some latency was visible in the live view, but the setup illustrated the Cube’s detachable-camera design and monitoring capabilities.
- A 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor and a 155-degree ultra-wide lens, with 8K recording at 30 fps.
- 4K HDR recording at 60 fps and 4K recording at 120 fps for slow-motion footage.
- 50-megapixel still images and a 4K Hyper-Night mode for low-light shooting.
- GyroSteady AI stabilization, supported by a 4nm processor rated at up to 48 TOPS for AI functions.
Dreame is also preparing a broad mounting and accessory range for the LEAPTIC Cube, including helmet and bicycle mounts, tripods, underwater protection, audio accessories and a dog harness. The camera is rated for submersion to depths of up to 10 meters without an additional housing.
Battery life is listed at about 90 minutes from the main module, extending to as much as 220 minutes when used with its magnetic battery dock. The combination of a large sensor, high-resolution capture and modular hardware positions the Cube for a highly established action-camera segment, where stabilization, software and accessory ecosystems will be as important as its headline 8K mode.
