Huawei may be preparing a wide-format addition to its Nova lineup, according to leaks collected by Huawei Central. The device has been referred to as either the Huawei Nova X or Nova View, although it is not yet clear whether those names describe one product or separate projects.

Rather than using a foldable design, the rumored handset is said to be a conventional rigid smartphone with a 6.39-inch OLED screen and proportions close to 16:9.5. That would make it noticeably wider than the tall displays now typical of most phones.

The concept appears to build on Huawei’s Pura X and Pura X View. The latter reportedly exceeded 280,000 activations in its first five days, indicating that Huawei sees enough interest in the wider-screen format to explore it in another product line.

A separate leak attributed to @FixedFocus describes flat sides and black, white and purple finishes. It also points to a vertically arranged rear camera module reminiscent of the Huawei P30 Pro. The comparison concerns the layout alone: there is no evidence yet that the Nova model would inherit the 2019 P30 Pro’s quad-camera system or 5x periscope zoom.

Other claimed specifications should be treated with particular caution. Rumors mention 12GB of RAM, a Kirin 9020 chipset and a starting price of 4,999 yuan in China. None has been confirmed by Huawei or backed by independent technical information.

For context, the Pura X View starts at 5,999 yuan in China, so a 4,999-yuan Nova X would position the device below that model within Huawei’s wide-screen range rather than as a budget phone. A 2027 debut has been suggested, but Huawei has not announced a launch timetable or confirmed whether the device would be sold outside China.
