Huawei may unveil its Mate 90 smartphone series on September 28 or 29, according to a new report, shifting the rumored timetable beyond the previously cited September 23 date. The report also says Huawei could begin its official teaser campaign next week, although the company has not announced a launch event.
The earlier September 23 rumor was linked to a “Huawei Device Haco” event found in China’s event-approval system and scheduled at the Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center. That event was never officially connected to the Mate 90 lineup, however, and its relationship to the phones remains speculative.

A September 28 or 29 launch would better fit the apparent lack of a teaser campaign ahead of the earlier September 23 date. Still, the revised schedule is not confirmation that Huawei has formally abandoned that earlier date.
Hardware details remain unconfirmed. Leaks have associated the higher-end models with a Kirin 9050 Pro chip, while a separate Mate 90 Pro Max report mentioned a 200-megapixel telephoto camera. That camera claim has carried an unresolved timing question involving a SmartSens sensor.
An official teaser during the week beginning September 21 would be the first concrete sign that the late-September schedule is on track. Until Huawei provides its own announcement, both the launch date and the reported device configurations should be treated as rumors.
