REDMAGIC's Astra 2 gaming tablet reached a full charge in 54 minutes in testing, slightly faster than the 57-minute figure cited by the company for its USB 3.2 Gen 2 port. The result helps offset mixed endurance results from its 8,300mAh battery, which is 100mAh larger than the pack used in the previous generation.
- 5 minutes: 17% charge
- 15 minutes: 43% charge
- 30 minutes: 76% charge
- 54 minutes: 100% charge
In a video-playback test, the Astra 2 lasted 14 hours and 15 minutes, placing it 16th in the test ranking. That is behind the Lenovo Legion Tab 8.8 (2025), which recorded 16 hours and 54 minutes. The result is also just below the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6's more than 14 hours and 20 minutes, while the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 sits slightly above 14 hours.
Its continuous-use result was stronger by comparison: 7 hours and 30 minutes, enough for 34th place in that ranking and ahead of the Lenovo Legion Tab 8.8 (2025), which recorded 5 hours and 49 minutes in the same test. The figures point to more competitive endurance under a demanding mixed workload than in video playback.
The Astra 2 has two side-mounted USB-C ports, with support for bidirectional reverse charging that lets the tablet supply power to a smartphone or accessory. It also includes bypass charging, which powers the tablet directly rather than charging the battery during gaming to help limit heat, plus an Extreme Cold charging mode for sub-zero ambient temperatures.
