The REDMAGIC Astra 2 is a compact gaming tablet built around the 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, pairing the flagship Qualcomm platform with liquid cooling in a body measuring 6.9mm thick. The chip uses Oryon CPU cores clocked at up to 4.6GHz and Adreno graphics, while REDMAGIC adds its RedCore R4 coprocessor to manage gaming resources, power consumption and image enhancements.
The tablet will be offered in two memory configurations: 12GB of RAM with 256GB of storage, or 16GB of RAM with 512GB of storage. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 6.0, while two USB-C ports are included. One is a USB 3.2 Gen 2 connection capable of transfers up to 10Gbps and video output to an external monitor.
- AquaCore Cooling System 2.0 combines liquid cooling, Liquid Metal 3.0 and a large vapor chamber.
- A piezoelectric micropump and fine internal channels circulate the cooling liquid.
- The 8,300mAh battery supports 75W charging and reverse charging.
For media and controls, the Astra 2 has stereo speakers with DTS:X Ultra and N'Bass acoustic material, plus dual X-axis linear motors for 4D haptic feedback. Its cameras include a 13MP rear unit and a 9MP front camera, with fingerprint scanning and face unlock available for authentication.
The combination of Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the RedCore R4 and an active liquid-based thermal design positions sustained gaming performance as the Astra 2’s central pitch. How that cooling system performs during extended high-load sessions will be the key detail to watch.
