Samsung could expand its wide-format foldable lineup in 2027 with two Galaxy Z Fold 9 models, according to a rumor from South Korean tipster Lanzuk. The reported plan would pair the regular flagship Fold 9 with one additional device, although Samsung has not confirmed any such products.

The standard Galaxy Z Fold 9 is said to follow the Galaxy Z Fold 8 as a flagship book-style foldable. For the second model, Samsung is reportedly considering two alternatives: a larger Galaxy Z Fold 9 Plus or a Galaxy Z Fold 9 Fan Edition with more modest hardware and a lower price. The rumor indicates that only one of those two variants would be released.

A Fold 9 FE would reportedly retain dimensions close to the standard model, with the main changes focused on internal hardware rather than the form factor. Such a device could give Samsung a less expensive entry in its wide foldable range, while a Plus version would push further toward the premium end of the category.

The reported discussion follows strong early demand for the Galaxy Z Fold 8. A Counterpoint Research report published in August said the device accounted for nearly 70% of series preorders in South Korea and around 50% in the United States.

Component costs may complicate the decision. Samsung is also rumored to be planning Galaxy A production cuts, and adding another premium foldable could increase pressure on its product strategy. A Fan Edition priced substantially below the €1,800–€1,900 range has been suggested as a possible alternative, but Samsung's final 2027 Fold lineup—and any pricing or availability—remains unconfirmed.
