Huawei has launched the Router X2 Pro in China, a Wi-Fi 7 router designed to blend into a bookshelf rather than sit out in the open. The antenna-free unit supports interchangeable magnetic front panels, including 3D-printable designs, while adding a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port and Huawei’s AI-assisted Mesh features.
The Router X2 Pro uses Huawei’s Lingxiao 760 networking processor, four integrated Wi-Fi antennas and four signal amplifiers. It operates on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, with no 6GHz support, and has a claimed combined theoretical wireless speed of 3,570Mbps.
Its wired connections consist of one 2.5Gbps Ethernet port and three Gigabit Ethernet ports, each with automatic WAN/LAN detection. Huawei’s Wi-Fi 7+ label covers company-developed optimizations, particularly for compatible devices in its own ecosystem. Huawei says the technology can raise speeds in weak-signal areas by up to 100% and cut interruptions by 80%, though those are laboratory results rather than guaranteed in-home performance.
Mesh placement and smart-home support

Through the Huawei Smart Life app, users can upload a home floor plan and receive suggested router placement for Mesh coverage. Status lights on the units indicate the connection quality between nodes. Huawei recommends one unit for homes up to 90 square meters and two units for spaces measuring 90 to 150 square meters.
The router can also act as a hub for smart-home devices over Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and NearLink, Huawei’s short-range connectivity technology also known as Star Flash. NearLink can provide a dedicated gaming connection on certain compatible phones. Parental controls include time limits, content filtering and internet-usage reports.
Measuring 191.7 × 51.1 × 141.1mm and weighing about 475g, the Router X2 Pro accepts tool-free magnetic decorative panels. Huawei offers brown, white and gray finishes, with a green option planned later. Decorative panda and cat designs can also be 3D-printed using files available through the MakerWorld community.
