The Allview X2 Soul has arrived to us for testing and this is actually a rebranded Gionee Elife S5.5, the thinnest smartphone in the world. It measures 5.5t mm in thickness and below you can check out its unboxing. The phone was launched in May and it’s priced at $381, at least in India.

Inside the box we find a protective film for the screen, nice looking headphones, USB cable, charger, manual, SIM tray metal key and a Bitdefender Mobile Security code. The handset uses a micro SIM card slot, weighs 129 grams and integrates a 5 inch Super AMOLED Full HD screen made by Samsung. Both the front and the back of the device are covered with Gorilla Glass 3 protective tech. The OS here is Android 4.2.2, with KitKat coming very soon.

Inside the Allview X2 Soul/Gionee Elife S5.5 we find an octa core MediaTek MT6592 processor, clocked at 1.7 GHz. There’s a Mali 450 750 MHz GPU on board, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and at the back there’s a 13 megapixel camera with LED flash and an IMX 135 sensor. The front camera is a 5 MP unit and inside the phone we find a 2300 mAh battery. This smartphone is made of glass and metal (98%) and it’s both thin and elegant.
