Apple is reportedly working with LG on a smart-home accessory lineup that could cover video doorbells, cameras, a thermostat, sensors and a smart lock. The products would carry LG branding, while Apple would contribute development and ecosystem integration, according to a report described by Mark Gurman.

The reported arrangement would give Apple a broader set of home products without requiring it to manufacture and support every camera, sensor or lock itself. LG would handle production and hardware support, while the lineup could deepen Apple’s competition with Amazon Ring and Google Nest.

Certification documents have identified seven LG products in the range:

  • LG Video Doorbell Wired — a wired video doorbell.
  • LG Smart Deadbolt Lock — a smart lock.
  • LG Smart Thermostat — a thermostat.
  • LG Temperature Sensor — a temperature sensor.
  • LG Indoor Cam Plug-In — a plug-in indoor camera.
  • LG Outdoor Cam Plug-In — a plug-in outdoor camera.
  • LG Floodlight Cam — a camera with an integrated floodlight.

The product names indicate that the doorbell requires wired power, while the indoor and outdoor plug-in cameras need a nearby power outlet. Those installation requirements would differentiate them from battery-first alternatives in the smart-home market.

Several of the accessories are said to include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thread and Matter connectivity. The smart lock reportedly adds ultra-wideband (UWB), potentially enabling proximity-based unlocking. Matter support could make the devices easier to integrate across smart-home platforms, although the final platform-specific feature set has not been confirmed.

The accessories could provide hardware to accompany Apple’s rumored Home Hub, sometimes referred to as HomePad. A new HomePod mini and an updated Apple TV have also been rumored for October 13, while the LG accessories are expected several months later. Certification records do not themselves name Apple, and neither Apple nor LG commented on the reported collaboration, leaving product timing and availability unconfirmed.
