Apple has released iOS 27.0.1, its first minor update following the iOS 27 rollout. The patch fixes an issue that could cause the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max to restart unexpectedly after Face ID failed to authenticate a user.
- Fixes unexpected restarts on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max following failed Face ID authentication.
- Removes a color artifact that could appear in 2x zoom photos shot at an f/1.48 aperture under specific lighting conditions on the new Pro models.
- Fixes a touchscreen freeze affecting compatible iPhones when Notification Center and Control Center were opened at the same time.
The update also includes additional stability improvements for older compatible iPhone generations. Apple has released iPadOS 27.0.1 alongside the iPhone software patch.
