The iPhone 18 Pro Max has entered early testing in a matte black finish, with the most consequential changes centered on endurance, imaging and thermal management. The handset is said to use a 5,391mAh battery in its nano-SIM version, up from 4,823mAh on the iPhone 17 Pro Max; the eSIM model is listed with a 5,567mAh cell.
Apple has also reportedly moved to a 2nm processor, added a more capable cooling system and increased charging speed, with a claimed 0-to-50% charge in 15 minutes. Early video-playback testing is said to have exceeded the previous model by a considerable margin, although complete battery-test results have not yet been published.
