Apple plans to bring its new Siri AI experience to the second-generation Apple TV 4K from 2021 and the third-generation model from 2022, extending a headline feature of its newly announced fourth-generation streamer without requiring new hardware. The upgrade is due through tvOS 27.2 later in 2026, but Apple has not provided a specific release date.

Siri AI goes beyond basic voice commands, according to Apple. The assistant is designed to handle more complex requests, provide personalized film and TV recommendations, and use personal context to find a show suggested by a friend or resume an episode a viewer had previously started.

Apple has not announced feature restrictions for the older Apple TV 4K models, despite their less powerful processors. The initial release will be a beta and will support English in a limited group of markets:

  • United States
  • Australia
  • Canada
  • India
  • New Zealand
  • Singapore
  • South Africa
  • United Kingdom

The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K is scheduled to reach stores on November 13, 2026, so tvOS 27.2 could arrive around the same period, though that timing has not been confirmed. The new model is priced at $299, compared with a $129 launch price for the 2022 Apple TV 4K; its hardware additions include an A19 chip, Wi-Fi 7, extra microphones for voice control and a Find My-compatible remote.

That Siri Remote is also sold separately for $59 in the United States. It includes a speaker and Ultra Wideband support for Precision Finding, and can be paired with older Apple TV models. Wider regional availability for Siri AI, including its timing in Europe, remains unconfirmed.
