Just a couple of days ago, the Global Certification Forum (GCF) certified a brand new ASUS handset, codenamed ASUS A006. The device got listed with support for 4G LTE Category 6 and we have a few theories regarding its identity.

The LTE version we mentioned above is good enough to reach a download speed of up to 300 Mbps, plus uploads of up to 50 Mbps. The device may get sold in the States, which is a hint gathered from the whole FDD-LTE support thingie. So, as far as the identity goes, this may well be the ASUS ZenFone V, which is expected to come to Verizon Wireless any day now.

We should also mention that a so called ZenFone 4 Ultra started popping up recently in GFXBench, with a Snapdragon 820 CPU and 4 GB of RAM. That’s another potential identity of the device. That product came with a main camera of 21 MP, capable of 4K video capture. Of course, it may end up as another ZenFone 4 series device, there’s no way to tell yet.

Last I heard, the ZenFone 4 models were coming in July, so we should soon start to see renders and more detailed leaks of the newcomers.
