The Dacia Duster has been named Best Small SUV at the RAC New Car Awards 2026, beating the Citroën C3 Aircross and Volkswagen T-Roc. The award recognizes the SUV’s balance of purchase price, running costs, cabin space, comfort and ability beyond paved roads.
RAC evaluates contenders on value for money, ownership costs, safety, practicality, comfort, technology and road behavior. In its Duster review, the organization awarded the model an overall score of 8.4 out of 10, with top marks for value and scores of 9 out of 10 for practicality and running costs.
The result reflects Dacia’s established formula: a straightforward interior, useful equipment and generous space at a price below many competitors. RAC noted that more luxurious and more technology-focused small SUVs are available, but found the Duster especially difficult to beat when its overall value proposition is considered.
Dacia has also expanded the Duster range with the Hybrid-G 150 4×4 powertrain, described as a “tribrid” system. It combines gasoline, LPG and electric power, with Dacia claiming a total driving range of up to 1,500 km. UK pricing for the Duster starts at £21,845; availability and pricing vary by market.
