Elephone is back in the media, with the R9 upcoming flagship getting a special Home button. That one has been detailed today and it’ll be a multi function button, apparently. Presales of the device have started on the Elephone site, together with the S7 model.
The two surpassed 50k reservations in just a day, not a bad result at all. The Elephone R9 features a Home button with integrated fingerprint scanner, but the E Touch 2.0 tech helps it provide more than that. With a single touch the user can pull off more commands. A light touch works as a back button replacement, a double light touch or one press brings you Home, while a double Home press is a shortcut key.
A long press triggers the recent taskbar. Elephone protected its Home button with a special glass cover, that should aid the fingerprint recognition, in both speed and accuracy.
