AT&T tried to launch free WiFi this summer, but they failed and had to turn it off for a while. Now it’s back, with iPhone support in your local Starbucks and tons of other locations.

The carrier has already sent out SMS messages to iPhone owners, in order to inform them about the free WiFi access, now available in 17.000 hotspots. Among the locations where you’ll be able to use the free service are Starbucks, Barnes and Nobles, more than 50 supermarkets, 12 airports, 31 hotels, 23 universities, 18 convention centers and 5 sport complexes.

Each of these places grants you 24 hours of free WiFi, once you activate it on your iPhone.
