Google has just announced updates for its Reader Android app, that now receives a bunch of very interesting widgets. These were created as a response to the users’ feedback and they include an unread count widget, that allows you to choose feeds, labels or persons, afterwards placing the unread count on your home screen.

There’s also a new ticker widget included, a larger size widget that shows you the items in a stream and allows you reach the full article with a single headline click. Making a return is the mark previous as read function, present in older Reader versions. Russian translation was also added and if you want to give the app a try, you can download it from here.
