OpenAI has introduced Intelligent UI for GPT-6, a ChatGPT feature designed to generate interactive charts, diagrams and other visual elements when they can explain a topic better than text alone. Rather than requiring users to specifically request a chart or diagram, ChatGPT can determine when a visual interface is more useful and insert it into the conversation.

The generated elements can be explored through clicks and other interactions depending on the content. OpenAI’s examples include an interactive bicycle diagram that highlights individual components, allowing users to examine parts and better understand their roles.

Other demonstrations show a Sunday meal planner that adjusts ingredient quantities based on the number of guests, as well as a restaurant-bill splitter that extracts information from a receipt photo to calculate what each person owes.

The rollout began on October 7, 2026, for the following paid ChatGPT tiers:

  • ChatGPT Business
  • ChatGPT Enterprise

ChatGPT Free and Go users entered the rollout on October 8, 2026. The move brings ChatGPT closer to a more visual, app-like interface for common planning and information tasks, in an area where Google Gemini already offers related functionality.
