HONOR is reportedly working on Robot Phone 2, a follow-up to its robotic-camera smartphone concept that could bring more advanced AI features, new cooling solutions and further imaging development with ARRI. The claim comes from tipster SmartPikachu.

The rumored handset is said to focus on photo and video upgrades while retaining the partnership with German cinema-camera maker ARRI. Details remain limited, but both Robot Phone 2 and a separate portable device are expected to use very high-resolution image sensors.

HONOR is also said to be developing that standalone imaging device alongside the phone. It would reportedly have its own processing capability and run apps without being connected to a PC or another host device. The device could arrive next year, though there is no official launch timing or availability information.

The first Robot Phone established the hardware direction for the series, using a mechanically stabilized camera mounted on a robotic arm. Its imaging hardware includes:

HONOR Robot Phone camera hardware and robotic gimbal system
  • A 200 MP main camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor, f/1.6 aperture and mechanical gimbal.
  • A 200 MP periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and 2.7x optical zoom.
  • A 50 MP ultrawide camera.

Its titanium motor can move at up to 360 degrees per second, while the camera system can automatically track a subject. HONOR also introduced gesture-based camera controls and voice-source recognition designed to follow the person speaking during a vlog, livestream or video call.

The existing ARRI collaboration includes 10-bit LogC3 recording, an expanded color gamut and color profiles intended for video production, with footage suitable for further processing in apps such as DaVinci Resolve. HONOR presented these first-generation technologies on August 12, 2026; whether Robot Phone 2 will retain the same camera hardware or move to a new mechanical design remains unconfirmed.
