We know that the majority of handsets that reach North America go through a rebranding, so HTC ChaCha is no exception. This model is coming to Telus under the name HTC Status, the same branding that was rumored for AT&T last week. No official release date was revealed yet for America.

You’ll find the Status in both black and purple colors and you also get a detailed preview of the Facebook button features right here. This handset comes with a 800 MHz CPU, Android 2.3 with HTC Sense, a 5 megapixel camera with Flash, WiFi, 3G, 512MB of ROM and RAM, plus a microSD card slot. The QWERTY keyboard plus 2.6 inch touchscreen is always a welcome combo.

Now let’s see a price for this baby…

It reminds me of a calculator, but it kinda grows on you.  It looks like a neat 2nd phone for backup.  Too bad the screen is too small.
