After finding out that HTC is readying a low end Android phone that will be available at a low price point,  we’ve got the opposite kind of handset coming: a high end smartphone with a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor on board. Dubbed HTC Leo, this phone should be a Windows Mobile full touch handset.

Leo will feature WM 6.5 and support for quad band GSM/EDGE connectivity, dual band HSDPA connectivity, WiFi, GPS, A-GPS and Bluetooth. Its rich specs list includes a 4.3 inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display with a 480 x 800 pixel resolution, an accelerometer, light and proximity sensors, a 3.5mm audio jack and a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with dual LED flash.

512MB of internal memory and 320MB RAM should handle all tasks admirably, plus there’s a microSD card slot for more memory and a 1230 mAh battery to provide the needed power.  HTC Leo’s launch date is a mystery, as is its price, but it’s nice to see HTC expanding to all segments, from the low end to the highest end smartphones.
