Huawei is betting more and more on the US market, where it intends to launch the Huawei Honor 8 model next month, through a special event. They announced an “exciting product launch”, going on in San Francisco on August 16th.

The invites sent out don’t mention which Honor device will be debuting, but it’s very likely the Honor 8, especially since the invitation teases a dual camera. The handset was launched last week in China, sporting a gorgeous design and a Kirin 950 CPU, as well as 3 or 4 GB of RAM. It also brings a 5.2 inch Full HD screen with 2.5D glass and a 3000 mAh battery, plus a dual 12 MP camera module at the back.

What’s interesting here is that unlike the metal clad P9, this device uses a multi layer glass panel at the back, with gorgeous ways of catching light. We’re expecting a price tag between $300 and $350 in the USA, which is excellent considering the P9 is sold for around $500 or so. And even cooler models are coming in September, at IFA.
