Huawei has officially introduced the Pura X View in China, a wide-format smartphone that combines a 6.39-inch 16:9.5 OLED panel with a 7,000mAh battery in a 6.68mm-thick body. The handset starts at CNY 5,999 and uses Huawei’s Kirin 9030S chip with HarmonyOS 7.
The display has a 2232 x 1320-pixel resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and claimed peak brightness of 6,500 nits. Huawei lists 2,160Hz PWM dimming, 96.1% screen-to-body coverage and 1.05mm bezels. Despite its comparatively short 144.1mm height, the Pura X View is 87mm wide, measures 6.68mm thick and weighs 201g.
It is equipped with 12GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of storage. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, eSIM and USB-C, while the phone carries IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings. Color options are Shadow Red, Linen Grey, Zero White and Phantom Black.
Huawei’s rear camera system centers on a 200MP f/1.8 main camera with optical image stabilization. It is joined by a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS and 3.7x optical zoom, plus an 8MP ultrawide/macro camera. A second-generation Red Maple color sensor is also included. The front camera is rated at 50MP, and both the front and main cameras support 4K video recording.
The 7,000mAh battery supports 66W wired and 50W wireless charging. Huawei says the Kirin 9030S and HarmonyOS 7 combination delivers a 28% improvement in overall performance against an unspecified reference generation used in its testing.
The Pura X View follows Huawei’s wider-screen Pura X foldable, which uses a 16:10 format, and the Pura X Max. Unlike those devices, the new model uses a conventional candybar design, aiming to offer more horizontal room for 16:9 video, documents, games and multitasking without a hinge or secondary display.
In China, the 12GB/256GB model is priced at CNY 5,999, the 512GB version at CNY 6,999 and the 1TB configuration at CNY 8,499. First sales are scheduled for September 9. Huawei has not provided international availability details, leaving the China launch as the only confirmed market plan for now.
