Ice Universe says an app created in three hours with GPT-6 Astra can reproduce the viral folding animation associated with Apple’s iPhone Duo on a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. The demonstration is notable because the S26 Ultra is a conventional phone: it has neither a hinge nor a second display, making the effect a visual simulation rather than a recreation of the original hardware interaction.
The app is not presented as a One UI feature, nor as a port of the iPhone Duo interface. Instead, it uses the Galaxy S26 Ultra as a single-screen stage for an animation designed around a foldable device.
A previous fan-made demonstration reportedly brought a similar effect to the Galaxy Z Fold8, where the device’s hinge-angle sensor could help approximate the foldable interaction. Moving the idea to the S26 Ultra removes that hardware basis and puts the focus on the software trick itself.
Ice Universe referred to the AI model as “ChatGPT 6 Astra” in the post, while it is identified as GPT-6 Astra. The claim that the application was made entirely with the model in three hours cannot be independently verified: no code, prompts, or project history were provided.
The experiment suggests that a visually distinctive launch animation can be replicated quickly across devices even when the underlying hardware differs. It remains to be seen whether similar implementations emerge as standalone apps, launchers, or themes—and whether Apple’s original effect becomes a durable interface trend.
