Apple’s rumored iPhone Air 2 could bring a second 48MP rear camera while becoming thinner than its predecessor, according to a new leak. The device is said to measure 5.2mm thick and use a larger battery, potentially around 3,500mAh or more, though neither detail has been confirmed by Apple.
Tipster Digital Chat Station reports that the handset would retain a broadly similar form factor, built around a flat 6.55-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1.5K+ resolution and a conventional aspect ratio.
- Display: 6.55-inch flat OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K+ resolution.
- Processor and connectivity: Apple A20 chip reportedly built on a 2nm process, alongside the N2 wireless chip and C2 modem.
- Cameras: two 48MP rear cameras, consisting of a main wide camera and an ultrawide camera.
- Battery and design: a capacity of roughly 3,500mAh or higher is rumored in a body said to be 5.2mm thick.

The move to a dual-camera system would mark a notable change from the original iPhone Air’s single main camera, if the claim proves accurate. The A20 is also expected to belong to the same chipset family as the rumored iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo.
The iPhone Air 2 is currently rumored for spring 2027 alongside the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e. Its specifications, launch timing and availability remain unconfirmed, with Apple yet to announce the product.
