Apple lists a $999 out-of-warranty price for an iPhone Duo inner-display repair in the US, before applicable taxes and without AppleCare+. That is more than twice Samsung’s $419 rate for a Galaxy Z Fold8 inner-screen repair, according to a comparison published by PhoneArena.
| Phone | Inner display | Outer display |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone Duo | $999 | $379 |
| Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 | $419 | $139 |
| Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold | $568 | $178 |
Samsung also lists a $579 replacement for a broader Galaxy Z Fold8 module that includes additional components. Even against that option, Apple’s listed $999 inner-display price is $420 higher. The iPhone Duo’s $379 outer-display repair is also substantially above the $139 listed for the Galaxy Z Fold8 and the $178 listed for Google’s Pixel 11 Pro Fold.
The figures cover paid repairs outside warranty. AppleCare+ can substantially reduce accidental-damage costs in the US, although it is an additional subscription and its terms vary by market.
The pricing contrast comes as iFixit has given the iPhone Duo a provisional repairability score of 5 out of 10, described as the highest score it has awarded to a foldable phone. Repairability, however, does not determine the cost of replacement parts or service.
Reports of iPhone Duo hinge problems add another variable: a display failure caused by a manufacturing defect would fall under warranty rather than the paid rates above. The cause of the reported cracking issues has not been officially confirmed.
