Xiaomi has published the POCO X8s on its global product site, confirming a 6.35-inch compact smartphone with a 6,330mAh silicon-carbon battery, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and a 50MP telephoto camera with 2.5x optical zoom. The listing also resolves a key specification discrepancy: global configurations use LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.
That memory specification is notably less ambitious than earlier information tied to the phone's Vietnamese debut, which pointed to LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. Xiaomi lists the X8s in 8GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB variants, but the slower UFS 2.2 standard could affect file transfers and app installation times compared with newer midrange devices using faster storage.
- Display: 6.35-inch LTPO AMOLED, 2656 × 1220 resolution, adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate and up to 3,500 nits brightness
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 built on a 4nm process
- Memory: 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, or 12GB RAM with 512GB storage; LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage
- Rear cameras: 50MP Light Fusion 800 main camera with OIS, 50MP 2.5x optical telephoto camera and 8MP ultrawide camera
- Front camera: 20MP
- Battery: 6,330mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W wired charging and 22.5W reverse charging
- Other features: IP68 rating, stereo speakers, ultrasonic fingerprint reader and a 4,497mm² POCO 3D IceLoop cooling system
- Dimensions and weight: 151.1 × 71.8 × 8.06mm; 187g
The 50MP telephoto camera was absent from early reported specifications and is now confirmed by Xiaomi. Combined with the 6.35-inch display and 187g weight, it gives the X8s a relatively uncommon mix of compact dimensions, a large battery and dedicated optical zoom hardware.
The POCO X8s went on sale in Vietnam on October 25 at launch promotional prices of VND 10,990,000 for the 8GB/256GB model and VND 13,490,000 for the 12GB/512GB version. Those prices include a local VND 2,000,000 discount. Color options are black, blue and white.
A global product page suggests broader distribution is being prepared, but Xiaomi has not announced additional markets, release dates or regional pricing. Those details will determine how the compact X8s is positioned against the more powerful POCO X8 Pro, which offers faster memory.
