Apple has unveiled its latest iPad mini, bringing an OLED display, the A20 Pro chip and Wi-Fi 7 to its compact tablet line. The device is scheduled to go on preorder on October 28, 2026, with sales beginning November 6; US pricing starts at $699 for the Wi-Fi model and $849 for Wi-Fi + Cellular.
The new iPad mini uses an 8.5-inch Super Retina XDR OLED panel with bezels Apple says are 24% thinner than before. Peak brightness reaches 1,200 nits, more than double that of the previous generation. A nano-texture glass option is also available to reduce reflections.
At 5.4 mm thick, the tablet is thinner than its predecessor and carries an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. It will be offered in Midnight and Starlight finishes.

Apple’s 2 nm A20 Pro chip is rated to deliver up to 2.7 times faster graphics performance and up to 4.5 times faster AI processing than the prior iPad mini. The tablet also includes a 12 MP Center Stage front camera positioned along the landscape edge, a 12 MP rear camera capable of 4K video at 60 fps, and Apple’s new Acoustic Display audio system.
Wireless upgrades include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. Cellular models use Apple’s C2 modem, which the company says can provide mobile-data transfer speeds up to 50% higher. The tablet ships with iPadOS 27 and Apple Intelligence features; a new AI-powered Siri is due in beta with iPadOS 27.2 and is not currently available in the European Union.
Buyers will be able to choose from three storage capacities:
- 128GB
- 256GB
- 512GB
The iPad mini supports the following accessories, which are sold separately:
- Apple Pencil Pro
- Apple Pencil (USB-C)
