JBL has opened US pre-orders for the Pulse 6, a $329.95 portable Bluetooth speaker that combines 40W RMS output with an ambient-lighting system that can also operate independently as a lamp. Deliveries are scheduled to begin on September 6.

The speaker uses a 30W woofer and 10W tweeter, with AI Sound Boost included. It supports lossless playback over USB-C, Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity and Auracast, allowing it to be linked with other compatible JBL speakers.

Lighting remains central to the Pulse line, but JBL has expanded its controls on this model. A double tap can turn on the lights without starting music playback, while the JBL One app offers brightness and color-temperature adjustments. A Sunset mode can gradually dim the lighting over a period of up to 60 minutes.

JBL rates the 4,722mAh battery for up to 12 hours of use. A full charge takes around 4.5 hours with a 15W power adapter. The Pulse 6 carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and weighs 1.49 kg.
