LG is expanding AI beyond image processing in its 2026 TV range, using webOS 26 to personalize the interface around the person in front of the screen. The OLED evo AI and Micro RGB evo AI lineups shown at IFA 2026 introduce Voice ID for automatic profile switching, alongside AI Concierge recommendations and a built-in AI Chatbot.

Voice ID is designed to recognize a user’s voice and open that person’s profile automatically. On a shared television, that could bring up separate viewing preferences and recommendations without requiring users to manually select an account before browsing content.

LG’s AI Chatbot is intended as a natural-language support tool within webOS 26. A user can describe an issue such as an overly dark picture, and the system is meant to identify the relevant setting and guide them toward a fix rather than sending them through conventional menu navigation.

AI Concierge takes a more proactive role, analyzing viewing history and habits to suggest content, search terms and TV functions. It can be accessed through the dedicated AI button on the remote, with recommendations tailored to activity such as watching particular film, series or gaming categories.

At the hardware level, LG’s flagship OLED evo models and larger Micro RGB evo TVs use the α11 AI Processor Gen3. LG claims its neural processing unit delivers 5.6 times the performance of the α9 AI Processor Gen8 used in 2025, with improved CPU and GPU resources as well. The chip also supports AI Dual 4K Upscaling, which combines two upscaling methods for lower-resolution material.

The two display families retain very different panel approaches. OLED evo AI is LG’s self-emissive OLED offering, while Micro RGB evo AI targets the premium LCD segment with independently controlled RGB LEDs. LG claims Triple 100% Color Coverage for BT.2020, DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB on Micro RGB evo, emphasizing coverage and separation of the three primary colors.

Because voice profiles and viewing histories involve personal data, LG groups its webOS protections under the LG Shield name. The company says the system uses seven security technologies covering data storage and transmission, user authentication, software integrity, secure updates and security-event detection.

LG has positioned webOS 26 as the shared layer across its 2026 premium TV technologies, but the company has not detailed regional availability or model-by-model access to every AI feature. Those rollout details will determine how broadly Voice ID and the more proactive webOS tools reach the new lineup.
