LG has just announced officially the world’s first dual-core smartphone known as Star over the past week. Now redubbed LG Optimux 2X, the Tegra 2 handset will debut in Korea in January 2011, followed by Europe and the rest of Asia. The phone will come with Android 2.2 and support Gingerbread updates.

Thanks to the Nvidia Tegra 2 system-on-a-chip technology, the smartphone will get top notch processing and low power consumption. It’ll support 1080p HD Video playback and recording with HDMI mirroring. DLNA streaming is also available, plus a great gaming experience thanks to the gyro sensor and accelerometer.

Here’s the specs list of the Optimus 2X:

  • Display: 4 inch WVGA
  • Memory: 8GB, microSD (up to 32GB)
  • Battery: 1500 mAh
